This 1941-D Mercury Dime has been graded MS65FB by PCGS and is encapsulated in a first-generation PCGS rattler holder which is over 25 years old. The coin has also been certified by CAC as being solid for at least the next higher grade by the use of their seldom used gold label CAC sticker. The coin is very well struck and has strong cartwheel luster on both sides. The coin is lightly toned, more so on the obverse, and has hardly any marks or hits of note; the 25+ year old plastic holder, on the other hand, does have several small scratches and marks, some of which show in the photos . The obverse fields of the coin in particular exhibit many die polish lines under magnification which are pretty neat and add to the overall eye appeal. This is a really neat better than gem Mercury Dime in the old first-generation holder and with the difficult to earn gold CAC sticker. |
