1971 Canada British Columbia Silver Dollar PCGS SP68 SOLD
1971 Canada British Columbia Silver Dollar PCGS SP68
The 1971 Canada British Columbia Silver Dollar is composed of 50% fine silver with an actual silver weight of 0.375 ounces and features a proof-like finish. The obverse depicts a re-engraved version of the "Mature Head" Queen Elizabeth II which shows considerable detail. The reverse design of the is based on the provincial coat of arms of British Columbia and features the dual date 1871-1971 as this coin commemorates the 100th anniversary of British Columbia. This example of the 1971 Canada British Columbia Silver Dollar has been graded SP68 by PCGS. When tilted into direct light, the beautiful toning of this piece comes alive as shown in edited photos. Of course, the coin takes a different look when tilted away from direct light as seen in the full slab shots provided. The obverse has attractive rim toning which surrounds the design with mostly orange, red, blue and purple colors and with golden and yellow colors towards the center. The reverse is a mostly golden color that becomes a bit stronger and vibrant near the rim. An attractive high grade example.
