The 1972 Canada Voyageur Silver Dollar is composed of 50% fine silver with an actual silver weight of 0.375 ounces and features a proof-like finish. The obverse depicts a re-engraved version of the "Mature Head" Queen Elizabeth II which shows considerable detail. The reverse features a re-engraved version of traditional voyageur design of Canadian silver dollars with the Indian and the voyageur in the canoe. This example of the 1972 Canada Voyageur Silver Dollar has been graded SP67 by PCGS and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. A TrueView photo was taken by PCGS which captures the beauty of this coin in the best light.. When tilted into direct light, the beautiful toning of this piece comes alive as shown in the TrueView photo. Of course, the coin takes a different look when tilted away from direct light as seen in the full slab shots provided. The obverse is moderately toned with attractive gold color and deeper rim toning. The reverse is completely toned in a really neat mostly blue-green color that really works well with the design. |
