Here is a 1962 Franklin Half Dollar which has been graded MS64+FBL by PCGS. The FBL designation has been given to this coin as the coin exhibits fully defined bell lines on the reverse which is evident of a strongly struck example. The coin is bright white and lustrous, much more lustrous than you would typically see on a coin grading less than gem. There are several small marks and hits scattered about the coin on both sides, seemingly enough to prevent the higher grade from being awarded, but the plus grade assigned by PCGS is deserved. A small hazy area after the Y of LIBERTY on the obverse and some light milkspots are also of note, but they seem to disappear under a decent light and are almost unnoticed in the photos. A decent near-gem example of the date. |
