This 2001 Silver Eagle has been graded MS69 by PCGS. The coin has also been certified by PCGS to be a coin from the World Trade Center Ground Zero Recovery. Various coins, including the coin offered here, were recovered from the clean up of the World Trade Center site and were then certified by PCGS with the special flag label. When looking at WTC Recovery Silver Eagles, coins grading MS69 are more scarce than those simply graded Gem BU or Uncirculated. Presumably, the coins without the numerical grade on the label were coins that failed to meet the standards of an MS69 coin. Moreover, various label types of these coins exist and the version offered here with the certification number and barcode on the front of the label is significantly more scarce than other variations. Finally, the coin itself is nearly perfect with only a few light milkspots at the lower obverse. |
