1936 Cleveland Half PCGS MS66 |

The Cleveland Half is one of my favorites in the series and is a relatively low mintage issue in the classic commemorative series. Only 50,030 Cleveland Centennial Great Lakes Exposition Commemorative Half Dollars were minted. The design features Moses Cleaveland on the obverse and an outline of the Great Lakes on the reverse, with several major cities highlighted with stars. This example of the 1936 Cleveland Half Dollar has been graded MS66 by PCGS and is a really neat looking coin. The obverse of the coin is mostly white and has sort of a satin finish look to it. The reverse of the coin is just awesome with bright luster and attractive toning that completely covers the coin in a bright fiery red color. In hand, the color on the reverse pop even more than the photos suggest as the luster is much more prominent than it appears in the photo. There are also no major hits or marks are noticeable on the coin upon a close inspection. In all, this is a beautiful example of the Cleveland commemorative. |
